Overview / Job Summary

Aleris is a global leader in the manufacture and sale of aluminum rolled products, with approximately 14 facilities in three geographically aligned business units in North America, Europe and China. We serve a variety of end-use industries, including aerospace, automotive, defense, building and construction, transportation, packaging, and consumer goods.

 

Our Rolled Products North America division is seeking to add a talented Senior Plant Accountant to its Accounting team at the Lincolnshire, Illinois facility. The purpose of this role is to support the accounting function by conducting month-end closing reports, cost accounting and analysis, enforcement of plant internal control procedures, and various other plant reports.

Responsibilities Include

  •        Maintains a safe working environment by complying with Aleris HSE standards and policies, all state and federal regulations, and company policies and procedures. 
  •         Assist the Plant Controller with financial reporting and analysis as required.
  •         Assist plant controller in the preparation of monthly forecasts and annual budget plans.
  •         Assist to ensure proper policies and procedures are followed.
  •         Assist with audit requests and coordination with external and internal auditors.
  •         Assist in tracking and validating productivity and project savings.
  •         Work on all functions related to the plant closing processes as needed.
  •        Work with Plant Operations Management to perform analysis as necessary.

Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
    • 2-5 years of practical accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
    • Microsoft Office & ERP experience a plus
    • Ability to work varying hours depending on internal and external deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work individually and in a team environment.
    • Must have exceptional organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines and maintain necessary documentation.
    • Strong analytical and independent problem solving skills
