  • Overview / Job Summary

    Aleris is a global leader in the manufacture and sale of aluminum rolled products, with approximately 14 facilities in three geographically aligned business units in North America, Europe and China. We serve a variety of end-use industries, including aerospace, automotive, defense, building and construction, transportation, packaging, and consumer goods.

     

    Our Rolled Products North America division is seeking to add a talented Quality Coordinator at our Lincolnshire, IL Facility. This position will assist the Quality Department in attainment of quality standards.  Will be in charge of working with the Quality Manager to maintain and revise work instructions, standard references and policies related to the ISO system. Must be able to communicate with employees, design and perform QA audits and be the lead contact person for annual ISO audits from a third party vendor. 

    Responsibilities Include

    • Completes internal audits per schedule in the manufacturing area and issues non-conformation reports.
    • Maintains and update document control systems including: work instructions, standard references, standard practices and policies related to the ISO system.
    • Enter production hold information.
    • Perform new hire training for ISO 9001 quality systems.
    • Ensures corrective actions are entered, completed and follow up completed.
    • Assists the Quality Manager in the monitoring of programs of the quality improvement process.
    • Fills in for Properties Lab as needed.
    • Special projects as requested by the Quality Manager.
    • Regularly performs office administrative duties for operations and other plant departments.

    Required Qualifications

    • High School level education required. Associate’s degree with 2-3 years of Quality experience is preferred.
    • Previous Certification in ISO document control and auditing preferred.
    • Manufacturing background preferred.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Proven ability to function with minimal supervision, and discretion when to involve upper management.
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Must be able to use independent judgment when performing day to day activities
    • Decision making and problem solving skills.
    • Must have strong computer skills (Microsoft Word/Excel)
    • Ability to read and interrupt documents, safety policies, HR policies, standard work documents and instructions, maintenance instructions, procedure manual, etc.
