    Aleris is a global leader in the manufacture and sale of aluminum rolled products, with approximately 14 facilities in three geographically aligned business units in North America, Europe and China. We serve a variety of end-use industries, including aerospace, automotive, defense, building and construction, transportation, packaging, and consumer goods.


    The Human Resources department is seeking to add a talented Recruiter to its team at our largest US manufacturing location Lewisport, KY. We are looking for a high energy, customer focused and process minded individual lead all recruiting activities at the plant. This position will report to the Director, HR NA/Talent Acquisition located in Beachwood, OH with a dotted line to the local Director, HR.

    Responsibilities Include

    • Actively participate in maintaining a zero incident safety culture
    • Live and champion the Aleris core values; Safety, Integrity, Customer Focus, Ownership, Excellence, and Teamwork
    • Consistently deliver high quality talent to increase quality of hire and top talent within the company.
    • Manage day-to-day recruitment activities for White Collar positions including, but not limited to:
    • Receive updated job descriptions from HR and input for approval/posting into the ATS
    • Schedule and lead Strategy Calls for all positions
    • Review all applicants and disposition appropriately
    • Screen candidates and submit to manager
    • Manage internal candidate flow and communication
    • Schedule all interviews with the local team
    • Schedule and lead all Candidate Debrief calls
    • Partner with HRBP to input offer approvals into ATS
    • Ensure required electronic documentation is complete at the appropriate steps
    • Extend approved offers of employment
    • Complete Reference Checks
    • Manage the background check pre-employment offer, including:
    • Receiving candidate forms
    • Inputting data into third party provider service
    • Monitoring daily for updates
    • Notify HRBP and candidate of results
    • Partner with site HR representatives on new hire orientation activities. This includes providing feedback on the schedule and communicating the final schedule to the candidate.
    • Train all interviewers on the Behavioral Interview Process. Ensure all interviewers are trained prior to any on-site interviews. Provide training list to the Training & Development department for tracking purposes. Periodically audit the training list to ensure 100% completion by interviewers.
    • Support the recruitment activities for blue collar positions on a case by case basis as approved by direct manager.
    • Stay current on the company’s organization structure, personnel policy, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices, including OFCCP.
    • Understand and follow recruitment processes, both local and regional, as well as recruitment / HR compliance requirements. Share process issues and improvement ideas with Corporate TA.
    • Serve as a liaison with area employment agencies, colleges, and industry associations. This includes attending career fairs as a representative of the site.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in a business related field or combination of experience/education.
    • 2+ years’ experience in a talent acquisition role.
    • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with strong understanding of MS Office programs and ATS systems.
    • Flexibility and ability to work on multiple assignments, with an emphasis on teamwork, accuracy and detail.
    • Strong customer focus, organizational, administration, presentation, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
    • Good interpersonal skills, with ability to influence, negotiate and deliver high quality service to internal clients.
    • Flexibility of work hours is required during peak times and occasional special projects.
    • Travel up to 10%.
    • Ability to work in both an office and plant manufacturing environment.
