The purpose of this role is to provide support to the Regional HR Manager for all HR activities at both Uhrichsville, OH. and Buckhannon, WV. facilities including but not limited to employee/labor relations, benefits administration and all other local Human Resources functions. This HR professional will also assist in the recruiting and training efforts in addition to providing advice, assistance and follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation, and coordinate the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries. In addition, this role will be a champion for creating a safe, inclusive and highly productive culture.
Education and Experience:
An associate’s degree in Business or HR Management with three (3) to five (5) years of Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment, OR A bachelor’s degree in business with a focus in Human Resources Management and at least two (2) years of experience as an HR professional in a manufacturing environment.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Business Applications software. Previous HRIS and payroll system administration. Excellent written, verbal, listening and interpersonal skills. Must have ability to learn quickly and work in fast-paced environment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Up to 20% travel to other plants within region required. Must have the ability to occasionally extend stay at a particular site.
Professional in Human Resources (PHR). Experience working as an HR professional in a Union environment. Working knowledge of State and Federal pay administration laws, employee benefits administration, employee/industrial relations, FMLA compliance, Oracle HRIS, Kronos, Ultipro, and iCIMS.
Must have the ability and confidence to make decisions relating to role’s accountabilities. Must exercise discretion when determining if direction from manager is needed. Is accountable for the outcomes of decisions made.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be able to recognize data needed in order to make decisions, collect that data, and analyze in order to determine direction in which to proceed. If issue is beyond authority level or scope of work, must recommend plan of action to manager in order to proceed.
