    We are seeking to add an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to our Lincolnshire, IL facility.  The purpose of this role is to ensure that preventive and predictive maintenance programs are implemented, documented, and carried out in the prescribed manner.  The position will require the incumbent to work in a manufacturing environment which can be hot, dusty and may require climbing on or around equipment to supervise repairs or operating and/or riding in lifts and hoists to performing such work. Incumbent must handle multiple projects and priorities and be willing to work additional hours as necessary to meet demanding and difficult emergency situations. The successful candidate will establish strong relationships with all organizational levels in order to build collaborative approaches toward maintenance management.

    Responsibilities Include

    • Planning/scheduling, and supervision for all maintenance employees, consisting of Sr. Team Leaders, Mechanical Team Leaders, Electrical Specialists, Mechanics and Store Room Attendant.
    • Involved with employee matters i.e. discipline, vacation approval, shift change approvals and scheduling overtime.
    • Involved with writing and editing maintenance safety procedures, maintenance procedures, equipment PM procedures, and environmental procedures for the maintenance department.
    • Trains maintenance employees to use MLS software.
    • Procurement of necessary items to support the Maintenance effort.
    • Obtains formal quotations on large and small volume items as required.
    • Assist with the analysis of breakdowns to determine the proper requirements for parts and supplies that must be ordered.
    • Interviews vendor representatives and maintains positive vendor relationship.
    • Keeps abreast of new and innovative products, which will help the maintenance department improve their level of customer service.
    • Ensures that contractors and service vendors have supplied current certificates of insurance with adequate coverage as prescribed.
    • Insures that contractors have been apprised of the facility safety requirements and that they abide by these rules.
    • Assists in controlling the departmental spending to keep it within the specified budget.
    • Ensures compliance with collective bargaining agreement.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree (technical) or equivalent years’ experience preferred.
    • Experience in the aluminum or steel industry a plus.
    • Five year’s experience leading a maintenance team in an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment.
    • Demonstrated experience in mechanical and electrical industrial maintenance.
    • Strong working knowledge of purchasing, PLC systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and overall machine design.
    • Able to interact with vendors, customers, contractors and employees at all levels of the organization; able to make decisions “under fire”.
    • Proven negotiating, interpersonal and both written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    • Proficiency in personal computer skills, including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics.
